Freeski Fridays in Les Arcs and Peisey-Vallandry
Freeski Friday is a weekly event for ski and snowboarders interested in off-piste skiing, off-piste safety and ski touring.
The program varies each week according to the numbers of participants, their abilities and the snow and weather conditions. The session will be led by an experienced AIM Snowsports off-piste instructor.
Typically it will include;
Backcountry safety education
Avalanche rescue procedures
Transceiver search practise
Snow pack analysis
A short ski tour or hike
Off piste skiing with tips on technique.
This will be an opportunity on a weekly basis to discuss and learn more about backcountry off piste skiing with the aim of enjoying the mountains in the company of like minded people.
Equipment required:
For skiing off piste
Off-piste skis
Tranceiver, shovel & probe in a backpack
Touring skis, boots & skins (for ski touring)

10:00am meet inside La Crèche restaurant, Col de la Chal (Top of Arcabulle & Transarc lifts)
Chat to participants, decide plan for the day and collect payments.

Tool talk
Using the Transceiver, shovel & probe and best practises. Procedures in the event of an avalanche or accident.

Ski touring (option to Boot pack might be possible for those without ski touring equipment)
Introduction and familiarisation with equipment
Ski tour distance will vary depending on participants
Around 3 hours round trip will including off-piste awareness & safety.
Assessing slopes & collecting information
Snowpit analysis
Map reading, route planning
Off piste skiing with tips
(Bring your own drink & snacks)

Prices may vary according to group size and days plan but will be around 50 Euros each payable to the instructor on the day.
