Snow conditions report 25th November 2016

Today was a good one! After a heavy snowfall overnight, we arrived in Tignes this morning to snow falling at about 1,900m. The warmer temperatures dropped overnight and we were amazed by the size of the 50p snowflakes falling and the difficulty we had parking in 30cm of snow!

The lifts were closed first thing due to the high wind but the Bollin chair soon opened followed mid morning by the Tichot chair. As the wet heavy snowfall stopped, the sun came out and we headed higher to find some deep fresh snow. The forecast for the week is clear and cold, perfect for the snow cannons and the production of some artificial snow

to help build up a good base of snow. We're hoping to get up to Les Arcs and have a look around this week, the resort is due to open 10th December 2016 and the signs are positive for a good start to the season.
